Intro
My name is Zaina Irion-Byrd and I am in the Biomedical Technology Commercialization Master's Program. I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Since graduating with my Bachelor's in Biology in 2017, I have primarily held a variety of roles in the Tissue Banking/Biologics industry. This year I just started a new role as a Medical Device Associate where I do intellectual property work.
Personal Vision
One year from now I will have successfully completed my Master's Degree. I hope to stay at my current company for the next 3-5 years, learning everything I can about Intellectual Property and Medical Devices. Alongside that, I do hope to start my own entrepreneurial ventures, relating to the Tissue Bank/Biologics/Medical Device industries.
Personal Vision
My short term goals include completing this class with a solid foundation in Finance, and using the information I will learn in my Master's Final Project (if needed) to graduate in the Fall. Additionally, I would like to start setting the foundation to develop my own internet-based company.
Entrepreneurial Projects
Although I am not currently working on any projects, I am hoping to use this course as a brainstorming activity for my Master's "Final Project". I am hoping to do a marketing based project for the biologics sector that will eventually be able to become my first business.
Skills
I have always done well with project management due to my strategic thinking and planning skills. As part of a team, I enjoy and excel at training and employee development. Being in the sciences, I have a wide array of technical skills and knowledge, and if I dont know the answer, I most likely know how to find it.
