About Me
From
The University of Texas at San Antonio
The United States of America
Intro
Born in San Antonio, Texas I was raised just minutes from the university I now attend. Having grown up in a house among renters from a myriad of backgrounds and regions, I have always been surrounded by global perspectives. In advancing my education, I've learned that sustainability must be coupled with economic and political prosperity. Such interest has taken me overseas to places like Argentina, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Mexico, and locally to Washington, D.C., and Austin Texas.
Personal Vision
As a multidisciplinary researcher, my interests are varied and wide-ranging. In reconciling my passion for environmental protections with that of the importance of economic security and energy affordability, I see my role in such efforts as advancing efficient and effective climate and energy solutions. Whether this be consulting, environmental and energy economics, engineering, analyzing emerging technologies like AI, or developing policy, I hope to lead projects that integrate these tools to create and scale robust impact.
Goals
My fellow TEWO cohort can help me by teaching me about technology, finance, accounting, and business. As an Environmenrtal Studies major, I sometimes feel unequipped to add value by means of technical knowledge to my organizations. With a specific interest in consulting, I would like to learn about business strategy, finance, and the expectations of the field... such as those intimidating case interviews. In preparation for grad school, I want to gain clarity regarding what discipline is right for me and if I have the mind for a discipline in something like finance or engineering.
Entrepreneurial Projects
Currently planning a fireside chat that will take place on UTSA main campus during spring 2026. It will host political advocates, industry leaders, academics, and communtiy members to discuss the impacts of scaled electricity demand on consumers. Namely, will consumer prices rise as data centers move operations to TX? Are our grids weatherized and secure against cyber attacks? What are the priorities of governance (bringing in business, constituent and env. needs, long term planning)? What role do community members have in this convo? Also conducting a research project on similar topic.
Skills
Primarily skilled at critical thinking and strategy development. Experience in both nonprof and public sectors informs my ability to synthesize and respond to the needs of various departments, regions, etc, with an appropriate solution. As an environmental scientist, I've always had to translate my work to the lay-perosn and consider all aspects of a situation to devlop solutions that are politically feasible, pragmatic, and cost effective. Such justification has enhanced my ability to leverage accuracy to gain buy-in and build community. Great at ideating but not so great at completing.
