Intro

Hello! My name is Claudia P Arellano, and I'm originally from the small border town of Eagle Pass, Texas. Since graduating high school, I have lived in Austin, Dallas and San Antonio. I'm currently pursuing my MBA at the University of Texas at San Antonio, with plans to graduate in Summer 2025 following a study abroad program in Seoul and Busan, South Korea. Professionally, I've worked in Human Resources since 2006, with a focus on Compensation Analysis. My experience spans multiple industiries, and I'm passionate about using data-driven insights to support strategic workforce planning.

Personal Vision

I'm currently at a crossroads in my career, weighing whether to pursue a traditional management role as the next step up the corporate ladder. It feels like the natural progression, especially after many years in the HR field and deep specialization in compensation. On the other hand, I'm also considering pivoting into an adjacent role, such as data analysis, project management, or consulting, whether within HR or in a board business context. With graduation approaching, I find myself hesitant to chase a role solely for a higher paycheck or title. I want meaning in what I do.

Goals

I am researching business content by reading industry articles, listening to podcasts focused on women in leadership, entrepreneurship, and empowerment, and watching TED Talks and videos featuring successful minority women on YouTube. In the short term, I’m also participating in workshops offered by the UTSA Business School—like this one—and connecting with my professional network for guidance.

Entrepreneurial Projects

I am exploring scalable business concepts: Research and test business ideas with the potential to grow into sustainable, long-term ventures.

I would love to build a family legacy: Create a business that reflects my values and serves as a foundation for generational wealth and leadership. Equip my family—especially my children—with the knowledge, tools, and mindset to thrive as entrepreneurs and business leaders.
