Software Engineer I
Intro
Hi, I was born here in San Antonio TX where I continue to live with my wife Nancy and 2 boys, Travis and Oliver. I have over 12 years of work at USAA as a Software Engineer I and tech lead. I studied IT at Brigham Young University at Provo, UT. I served a 2-year full time mission for my church in Brazil, Brasilia. I speak both Spanish and Portuguese. So far, God and life have been good to me.
Personal Vision
So far, I find myseld already living my dream. I'm not much for wanting to start my own company, but I've always envisioned myself raising a little family, being faithful to God, and working hard to make a living. At the moment, I have what I need, and most of what I want. I'm continuing my education so I can help others, and help my family grow as well.
Goals
At the moment, my goals are to just keep to working hard, and doing my best to help others out. I suppose my next step is to retire, but that is still about 20 years away. So I'm working to keep my family healty and happy, and to give my kids a great start in life.
Skills
Most of my skills come from on the job training. You have to be a good communicator and good team player to get things done. Technical skills are nice, but it's the culture you bring with you that counts the most. I bring motivation and a desire to learn to the table, and use that to push myself to the goal.
Entrepreneurial Projects
I don't currently have one. However, my partner and I for the MOT class are thinking about coming up with a way to deal with the world's polluted oceans and seas problem.
